Visa & Entry Requirements

All foreigners except Indians are required to possess a valid passport and visa to enter Nepal.

Please note that for Indian delegates, the ID card issued by the Government of India is applicable however the Adhar Card is not accepted.

Apply for a visa online: Fill in the online “Tourist Visa” form available on the Department of Immigration’s official website and bring the printed copy of submission receipt with the barcode.

Apply for a visa upon arrival: Tribhuvan International Airport has been facilitating tourists flying to Nepal by providing Visa on Arrival. To obtain a visa upon arrival in Nepal you must fill in an application form at one of the automatic registration machines, which will also take your digital photo.

The fee is payable in any major currency, but at land borders officials require payment in cash (US dollars); bring small bills. A single-entry visa valid for 15 days costs US$30.

Some Nationals of designated countries are requested to acquire Visa prior their arrival from their nearby Diplomatic missions (Embassies/consulates) of Nepal Government.
