As President of Nepal Bar Association (NBA), it’s my pleasure and privilege to deliver a welcome note to all the national and international delegates on the 2nd LAW ASIA Human Rights Conference, Kathmandu 2020.
NBA was founded on four basic principles: Human Rights, Independence of Judiciary, Rule of Law and Capacity Enhancement of Lawyers. Ever since its establishment, NBA has been leading civil society organization in Nepal for all the democratic movements in Nepal to secure human rights, rule of law and independence of judiciary. It is for this reason that this Human Rights Conference is going to be instrumental. The thematic sessions the Conference has designed could be a landmark turn for human rights and environmental lawyers, activists and civil society. We have also taken this conference as an opportunity to extend professional bond among Bar Associations of other jurisdiction and lawyers and activists. We are eager to welcome all the Delegates and Speakers in beautiful country Nepal to share our experiences, ideas and collaboration among all for human rights and environment.
Finally, I would like to express ample gratitude to LAWASIA for deciding to have this conference in Nepal and humbled with Rt. Honorable Cholendra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana Chief Justice of Nepal with consent to inaugurate the esteemed conference.
I and the entire team of Nepal Bar Association are looking forward to welcoming you all in Nepal to mark VISIT Nepal 2020.
I hope you will enjoy the conference and the natural and architectural beauty of Nepal.
